About Dr. Pokalkar:

Apeksha Pokalkar is a Neurology Resident at the University of Kentucky with an interest in movement disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.  She believes that geography should never determine access to neurological care and is invested in bringing specialist level care to rural and remote communities. She is equally passionate about mentoring the next generation of neurologists, equipping medical students with the clinical confidence and curiosity to engage meaningfully with a specialty that is growing in both complexity and demand. Outside of neurology, she finds her reset in the outdoors - on hiking trails and tending to her growing collection of seasonal plants.

About Dr. Gorty:

Dhanya Gorty is an Indian medical graduate from Hyderabad and PGY-1 Neurology resident at University of Kentucky Neurology Residency Program with an aspiration to specialize in vascular neurology. She is passionate about neurology education and developing innovative learning strategies aimed at reducing neuro-anxiety and fostering greater interest in neurology among trainees at a time of increasing demand for neurologic care. Outside of medicine, she enjoys exploring local cafés and ranking lattes across Lexington.
