AINA Members Recognized at International Stroke Conference 2026

Several AINA members are being honored among the world’s leading scientists in stroke and brain health at the American Stroke Association International Stroke Conference 2026, taking place February 3–6 in New Orleans.

The International Stroke Conference is the premier global meeting for researchers and clinicians dedicated to advancing the science of stroke and brain health. Each year, the American Stroke Association recognizes exceptional leaders whose work has made a lasting impact on patient care, research, and innovation.

This year’s honorees include:

  • Pooja Khatri, MD, MSc, FAHA, of Yale University, recipient of the William M. Feinberg Award for Excellence in Clinical Stroke, honoring outstanding contributions to clinical stroke care and research.

  • Raghu Vemuganti, PhD, of University of Wisconsin–Madison, recipient of the prestigious Thomas Willis Lecture Award, recognizing transformative contributions to stroke research.

  • Seemant Chaturvedi, MD, of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, recipient of the David G. Sherman Lecture Award for excellence in advancing stroke prevention and care.
